The effect of variation in the technique of metal fusion on the development of internal porosity in cast structures.

Standard tensile specimens were cast from a series of alloys using several techniques of metal fusion. Subsequently, all specimens were subjected to radiographic and metallographic evaluation inassociation with density determination in order to ascertain the effect of melting technique on the amount and pattern of porosity.
