We report a hierarchical TS-1 encapsulated subnano Pd/PdO hybrid catalyst that shows unprecedented activity in HO direct synthesis from H and O. The macro reaction rate in 30 min is up to 35 010 mmol g h at ambient temperature. Such high catalytic activity is achieved due to the hierarchical porous structure of TS-1 and the formation of the encapsulated subnano Pd/PdO hybrid after oxidation/reduction/oxidation treatment.
