Abstract

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this article is to analyze and compare the presence of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of and in class II and class III Javanese populations.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Cephalometric radiographs from total 63 patients of class II and III were analyzed. SNP analysis was performed based on both and sequences amplified from total DNA of patients' fresh blood. Principal component analysis was done to calculate the data and find the correlation of the cephalometric indicators influenced by each mutation. -test and Mann-Whitney analysis were performed to check the significance of differences occurred in each studied parameter ( < 0.05).

RESULT

There were three SNPs found in class II and only two in class III, while three SNPs found in both classes. Class II phenotype seemed to be strongly influenced by Y-axis and mandibular plane angle, while class III by lower gonial angle and mandibular plane angle.

CONCLUSION

Based on this study, we suggest that rs2249492 of and rs2981582 of play important roles in class III, while rs2277632 of and rs2981582 of play important role in class II skeletal malocclusion in Javanese population.

摘要

目的

本文旨在分析和比较爪哇人II类和III类人群中[基因名称1]和[基因名称2]的单核苷酸多态性(SNP)情况。

材料与方法

对总共63例II类和III类患者的头影测量X线片进行分析。基于从患者新鲜血液的总DNA中扩增出的[基因名称1]和[基因名称2]序列进行SNP分析。进行主成分分析以计算数据并找出受每种突变影响的头影测量指标之间的相关性。采用t检验和曼-惠特尼分析来检验每个研究参数中出现的差异的显著性(P < 0.05)。

结果

在II类人群中发现了3个[基因名称1]的SNP,在III类人群中仅发现2个,而在两类人群中均发现了3个[基因名称2]的SNP。II类面型似乎受Y轴和下颌平面角的强烈影响,而III类面型受下颌角和下颌平面角的影响。

结论

基于本研究,我们认为[基因名称1]的rs2249492和[基因名称2]的rs2981582在III类错牙合畸形中起重要作用,而[基因名称1]的rs2277632和[基因名称2]的rs2981582在爪哇人群的II类骨骼错牙合畸形中起重要作用。
