The problem of early degenerative lesions of knee joints in occupational groups of floorers and roofers has been presented. The major pathogenic factor was regarded to be overload occurring during the performance of static and dynamic work in the kneeling position. Over twofold rate of knee joints degeneration and its earlier occurrence were found as compared to controls. It was concluded that an extensive prophylaxis should be introduced.
