Migraine is a very common neurobiological headache disorder caused by an increased irritability of the central nervous system. Acupuncture as a complementary medicine has been suggested as one of the treatments for migraine headaches; however, the findings are conflicting.
Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of acupuncture with auricular semi-permanent (ASP) needles on migraine headaches.
In this single-blind randomized controlled trial, 80 patients with migraine were selected and divided into two groups. The intervention group was treated with auricular ASP needles in the active points of the ear, and the control group only received routine treatments. Pain score, frequency of migraine headaches, duration of headaches, severity of nausea and vomiting, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups for four weeks after the intervention.
Our results showed that the level of pain (4.72 ± 2.53, 2.13 ± 1.76 times) and the frequency of migraine headaches (8.98 ± 8.58 hours) from the second week after the intervention in the ASP group were much lower than those in the control group ( < 0.05). However, pain incidence and ear inflammation in the ASP group were negligible and did not differ significantly from those in the control group ( > 0.05).
Auricular acupuncture could be considered as a promising complementary therapy along with other standard migraine therapies for the prevention and treatment of migraine headaches.
偏头痛是一种常见的中枢神经系统过度兴奋引起的神经生物学头痛疾病。针灸作为一种补充医学，已被建议作为偏头痛治疗方法之一；然而，其疗效存在争议。
因此，本研究旨在评估耳半永久（ASP）针刺对偏头痛的疗效。
这是一项单盲随机对照试验，共纳入 80 例偏头痛患者，分为两组。干预组采用耳穴 ASP 针刺治疗，对照组仅接受常规治疗。干预 4 周后，比较两组患者的疼痛评分、偏头痛发作频率、头痛持续时间、恶心呕吐严重程度和患者满意度。
结果显示，干预后第 2 周，ASP 组的疼痛程度（4.72±2.53 倍，2.13±1.76 倍）和偏头痛发作频率（8.98±8.58 小时）均明显低于对照组（均<0.05）。然而，ASP 组的疼痛发生率和耳部炎症轻微，与对照组无显著差异（均>0.05）。
耳针可能被视为一种有前途的偏头痛预防和治疗的补充疗法，可与其他标准偏头痛治疗方法联合应用。
