One of the major advances in the management of tumors of bone and soft tissue has been the development of a method of staging. The method described in this article uses grade of the lesion, the anatomic site, and the presence or absence of metastases to define the tumor and aid in planning the surgical approach and the use of adjunctive modalities such as radiation or chemotherapy.
骨与软组织肿瘤治疗的主要进展之一是分期方法的发展。本文所述的方法利用病变分级、解剖部位以及有无转移来界定肿瘤，并有助于规划手术入路以及辅助治疗手段（如放疗或化疗）的使用。
