Abstract

• POCUS diagnosed AAS complicated by cardiac tamponade. • POCUS facilitated lifesaving emergency ascending aorta and hemiarch replacement. • The diagnostic accuracy of POCUS in AAS remains highly operator dependent. • Integrating POCUS into training curricula for emergency physicians can be beneficial.
