This article offers a critical analysis of the convergence of two perspectives, constructivism and the cybernetics of cybernetics, as they affect the value placed upon description of family therapy. An analogy to the problem of describing interaction in family therapy is drawn from the history of the representation of reality in art. It is argued that (a) the "interactional approach" is incompatible with radical constructivism, and (b) "the shift from observed to observing systems" has resulted in an unnecessary devaluation of representational description of family interaction.
本文对建构主义和控制论的控制论这两种观点的融合进行了批判性分析，因为它们影响了对家庭治疗描述的重视程度。从艺术中现实表现的历史中，引出了一个与家庭治疗中描述互动问题的类比。文章认为：（a）“互动方法”与激进建构主义不相容；（b）“从被观察系统到观察系统的转变”导致了对家庭互动表征描述的不必要贬低。
