Thumb Carpometacarpal (CMC) total joint arthroplasty is commonly performed with increasing numbers worldwide. We present a case of Prosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) leading to severe septic shock and disseminated septic emboli 8 months following uneventful thumb CMC arthroplasty. Such extensive and life-threatening infection following thumb CMC arthroplasty has not been reported. Level V (Therapeutic).
拇指腕掌（CMC）关节全关节置换术在全球范围内的应用越来越多。我们报告了一例在拇指 CMC 关节置换术后 8 个月发生的假体关节感染（PJI）导致严重感染性休克和播散性感染性栓子的病例。拇指 CMC 关节置换术后出现如此广泛和危及生命的感染尚未见报道。
