The synthesis and characterization of poly[di-chlorido-tri(1,3-thia-zolidine-2-thione)cadmium(II)], [CdCl(CHNS)] , prepared from CdCl·HO and CHNS (tzdSH) in a 1:3 ratio, are described. The Cd cation is coordinated by three 1,3-thia-zolidine-2-thione mol-ecules and three Cl anions in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The Cd metal centres are connected Cl ligands, creating polymeric chains running along the axis direction. The conformation of the chains is stabilized by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.
