One of the most difficult areas on the body to skin graft successfully is the interscapular and upper back region. We have used a wire "basket" to immobilize the interscapular region in 8 patients following wide excision for melanoma. "Takes" amounting to more than 90% in 7 patients and 80% in 1 patient have been obtained. The technique is simple and inexpensive.
