Combined Hormonal Contraception - Which Pill for Which Patient? Combined hormonal contraceptives (CHC) are a valuable and highly effective option in contraceptive counseling. Methods and preparations available in Switzerland are combined oral contraceptives (COC), vaginal rings and transdermal patches. All preparations contain an estrogen and a progestin component.
