This study aimed to review the existing literature to investigate the potential link between early-life antibiotic use and being overweight or obese in children. PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library were searched to identify studies published until August 2021 that assessed the relationship between early-childhood antibiotic use and measures of body mass index. The studies included children aged 0-18 years. Only cohort studies were taken into consideration. Studies published in languages other than English were excluded. Antibiotic usage in early life may increase the risk of obesity in children and the addition of yeast probiotics, such as , to antibiotic prescription can serve as a potential option to mitigate this risk.
