The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effects of using dried chaya leaf meal (DCLM) as a protein feed in a diet on growth performance, blood profiles, and carcass quality in a native Thai chicken.
Eighty 14-day-old Pradu Hangdum chicks were divided into four groups with four replicates each: control (without DCLM), 10%, 20%, and 30% DCLM inclusion in mash feed. Growth performance was recorded weekly until 98 days of age. Blood profile, carcass quality, and visceral organ weight were measured at 98 days of age.
The 10%-30% DCLM inclusion in the diet did not affect feed intake or feed efficiency; however, the body weight gain of chicks decreased linearly with the increase in DCLM inclusion. The heterophils, eosinophils, and monocytes were linearly increased with the increasing DCLM levels in the groups. The serum blood chemistry did not differ among the groups, while the AST in 10% and 20% DCLM was lower than in the control. Increasing the level of DCLM in the chicken diet did not affect carcass quality.
The DCLM can be used as a feed ingredient in Thai native chicken feed up to 20%.
本研究的目的是评估在泰国本地鸡日粮中使用干木薯叶粉(DCLM)作为蛋白质饲料对生长性能、血液指标和胴体品质的影响。
将80只14日龄的普拉杜杭杜姆雏鸡分为四组,每组四个重复:对照组(不添加DCLM)、在粉料中添加10%、20%和30%的DCLM。每周记录生长性能,直至98日龄。在98日龄时测量血液指标、胴体品质和内脏器官重量。
日粮中添加10%-30%的DCLM对采食量或饲料效率没有影响;然而,雏鸡的体重增加随着DCLM添加量的增加呈线性下降。各实验组中,嗜中性粒细胞、嗜酸性粒细胞和单核细胞随着DCLM水平的增加呈线性增加。各实验组之间血清血液生化指标没有差异,而添加10%和20%DCLM组的谷草转氨酶低于对照组。在鸡日粮中增加DCLM水平对胴体品质没有影响。
DCLM可作为泰国本地鸡饲料的一种成分,添加量可达20%。
