Myxozoans are one of the most important groups of microscopic metazoan parasite, infecting freshwater fish both in the wild and in aquaculture. During the twelve months of the study period (between January and December 2018), a total of 240 fish samples, including 60 , 60 , 60 and 60 were collected from Yezin Dam, Myanmar. Fish samples were examined under a binocular light microscope for the presence of myxosporean parasites. DNA extracted from infected tissues was conducted for PCR targeting small subunit ribosomal DNA (SSU rDNA) genes of myxosporean. The overall parasite infection rate was 48.8% (117/240) and it was highest (22.1%, 53/240) in the rainy season (June-September). In this study, morphological study revealed that five spp. ( sp. 1, 4-6, and 9) and two spp. ( sp. 1 and 2) were found to be infected in the gills (gill filaments) and kidneys, four spp. ( sp. 2, 3, 7 and 8) were infected in the gills and one sp. ( sp. 10) was infected in the kidneys of four studied fish species. Among them, three sequences (LC510617, LC510618 and LC510619) were isolated from detected parasites. The obtained sequences were similar (88.1-98.8%) to those derived from myxosporean parasites deposited in GenBank. This is the first report on molecular information about myxosporean parasites in Myanmar.

粘孢子虫是最重要的微观后生动物寄生虫群体之一,感染野生和水产养殖中的淡水鱼。在研究期间的十二个月(2018年1月至12月),从缅甸耶津大坝共采集了240份鱼样本,包括60份、60份、60份和60份。鱼样本在双目光学显微镜下检查是否存在粘孢子虫寄生虫。从感染组织中提取的DNA进行PCR,靶向粘孢子虫的小亚基核糖体DNA(SSU rDNA)基因。总体寄生虫感染率为48.8%(117/240),在雨季(6月至9月)最高(22.1%,53/240)。在本研究中,形态学研究表明,在鳃(鳃丝)和肾脏中发现有5种粘体虫属物种(粘体虫属物种1、4 - 6和9)和2种尾孢虫属物种(尾孢虫属物种1和2)感染,在鳃中有4种尾孢虫属物种(尾孢虫属物种2、3、7和8)感染,在4种研究鱼类的肾脏中有1种粘体虫属物种(粘体虫属物种10)感染。其中,从检测到的寄生虫中分离出三个序列(LC510617、LC510618和LC510619)。获得的序列与GenBank中 deposited的粘孢子虫寄生虫序列相似(88.1 - 98.8%)。这是关于缅甸粘孢子虫寄生虫分子信息的首次报告。
