The physician, the vendor of laboratory systems, the dealer, and the clinical laboratorian all play an important role in doctor's office testing. The interaction of these individuals is necessary for the optimal use of doctor's office testing. The laboratorian can work to promote high-quality testing in the office, can assist the physician in deciding what systems to purchase, can develop training programs for those doing tests, and can serve as a back-up facility for additional testing.
