Distant metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma is most commonly diagnosed in the liver; however, it can also be found in the lungs, distant lymph nodes, bones, and brain. Distant lymph node metastasis outside the abdominal region without concurrent abdominal metastasis is exceedingly rare in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Herein, we present interesting F-FDG PET/CT images of a 49-year-old male patient with common bile duct cancer. In this case, the patient, who was scheduled for surgery, unexpectedly showed axillary lymph node metastasis on a preoperative F-FDG PET scan, which was subsequently confirmed via histological examination. Although such cases are exceptionally rare, this accurate diagnosis prompted a modification of the treatment plan, leading to a positive therapeutic response.
胆管癌的远处转移最常见于肝脏；然而，它也可能出现在肺、远处淋巴结、骨骼和脑部。肝外胆管癌极少出现无同时性腹部转移的腹部以外区域的远处淋巴结转移。在此，我们展示了一名49岁胆总管癌男性患者有趣的F-FDG PET/CT图像。在该病例中，计划接受手术的患者在术前F-FDG PET扫描中意外发现腋窝淋巴结转移，随后经组织学检查得以证实。尽管此类病例极为罕见，但这一准确诊断促使治疗方案得以调整，从而带来了积极的治疗反应。
