Multiple sclerosis and vision.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a demyelinating disease that can result in numerous eye signs and symptoms. This paper reviews the changes that can occur in the visual system of those afflicted, as well as causes and treatment. Current diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures of importance to the optometrist are also highlighted. Two case reports illustrate how seeking optometric care early in the course of the disease may lead to its diagnosis.
