Abstract
Our study investigated the association between atopic dermatitis (AD) and inflammatory bowel disease using the Research Program, a US National Institutes of Health database providing health information on over 300 000 Americans. This cross-sectional study demonstrated that individuals with AD have an approximately twofold increase in odds of having inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis, compared with individuals without AD.
