Retraction: 'Infectivity of hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen (HBsAg) positive plasma with undetectable HBV-DNA: Can HBsAg screening be discontinued in Egyptian blood donors?' by Magdy El Ekiaby, Junko Tanaka, Harry van Drimmelen, Jean-Pierre Allain, Nico Lelie, J Viral Hepat 2022, 29: 330-339. The above article, published online on 11 March 2022 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jvh.13666) has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal's Editor in Chief, Graham Foster, and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. The authors have informed the journal that a systematic calculation error was discovered subsequent to the publication. Following editorial assessment, all parties have agreed that the identified error could potentially have implications for public health decision-making and warrant retraction of the article in its present form. The authors have been recommended to submit a corrected version of the article for an independent evaluation.
