A method is described for the determination of lactate in plasma using cytochrome b2, with tetrazolium salt as an electron acceptor. The chief advantages over the usual methods of lactate determination are high sensitivity, satisfactory specificity, high absorbance, use of the visible region of the spectrum, and low cost.
