Fifteen cases of pelvic endometriosis were examined histochemically. It has been observed that the activity of alkaline and acid phosphatase in endometriotic foci is identical, regardless of the organ in which it occurs. The significance of pelvic endometriosis as a potential source of a malignant alteration is pointed out.
