Abstract

N-methyladenosine (mA) is the most abundant modification to mRNAs. Loss-of-function studies of main mA regulators have indicated the role of mA in pre-mRNA splicing. Recent studies have reported the role of splicing in preventing mA deposition. Understanding the interplay between mA and mRNA splicing holds the potential to clarify the significance of these fundamental molecular mechanisms in cell development and function, thereby shedding light on their involvement in the pathogenesis of myriad diseases.
