Abstract
The authors share their experience with using laser scalpels for performing gastrectomies in 55 patients with gastric cancer (28 of them were subjected to extended operations). Bloodless and atraumatic operations and prevention of leakage of bile and enzymes reduce risk of combined operations and thereby widen indications for them.
