Group B Streptococcus Primary Pyogenic Ventriculitis in an Adult.

Pyogenic ventriculitis is a disorder characterized by inflammation of the cerebral ventricular lining secondary to infection within the ventricular system. Very few cases of primary pyogenic ventriculitis have been reported among adults. We present a case report of a 74-year-old female with a history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus who presented with Group B Streptococcus (GBS) primary pyogenic ventriculitis. She was successfully treated with intravenous (IV) antibiotics. To our knowledge, this is the only case of adult primary pyogenic ventriculitis.
