BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: In the course of COVID-19, there may be an excessive immune response of the body with the release of large amounts of pro-inflammatory cytokines, causing a "cytokine storm", also known as cytokine release syndrome (CRS). The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how important an integrated approach to health care is, with physiotherapy being one of its fundamental aspects. The aim of this study was to analyze the potential relationship between the level of selected cytokines (IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, IL-15, TNF-α) and inflammatory markers (CRP, NLR, PLR, LMR, SII) and the duration of rehabilitation in patients after COVID-19.
The examined patients participated in a comprehensive rehabilitation program, which included breathing exercises, aerobic training, and strength and endurance training. Peripheral venous blood samples were also collected from each patient.
Factors such as gender, smoking status, IL-10, and the presence of pneumonia during infection were significantly associated with the length of rehabilitation after COVID-19.
The course of rehabilitation after COVID-19 may depend on many factors, including smoking, the presence of pneumonia due to infection, and some parameters of inflammation.
背景/目的:在新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19)病程中,机体可能会出现过度免疫反应,释放大量促炎细胞因子,引发“细胞因子风暴”,也称为细胞因子释放综合征(CRS)。COVID-19大流行表明了综合医疗保健方法的重要性,物理治疗是其中的一个基本方面。本研究的目的是分析COVID-19后患者中选定细胞因子(白细胞介素-6、白细胞介素-10、白细胞介素-12、白细胞介素-15、肿瘤坏死因子-α)和炎症标志物(C反应蛋白、中性粒细胞与淋巴细胞比值、血小板与淋巴细胞比值、淋巴细胞与单核细胞比值、全身炎症反应指数)水平与康复持续时间之间的潜在关系。
受试患者参加了一项综合康复计划,其中包括呼吸练习、有氧运动以及力量和耐力训练。还从每位患者采集了外周静脉血样本。
性别、吸烟状况、白细胞介素-10以及感染期间是否存在肺炎等因素与COVID-19后的康复时长显著相关。
