[Mitochondrial vectors in the gene engineering of cells of lower eukaryotes].

The possibility of using the eukaryotic mitochondrial DNA and mitochondrial plasmids as suitable shuttle vectors for pro- and eukaryotic systems is discussed. Data are presented on the expression of the animal mitochondrial DNA in bacterial and yeasts cells.
