Abstract

Inflamaging is a chronic, low-grade inflammation that occurs due to a disruption in the regulation of the immune system during the aging process. This condition is associated with an increased risk of age-related illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative conditions, and metabolic disorders. Transcription factor NF-κB is one of the primary regulators of innate and adaptive immune responses, and its activation leads to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines that contribute to inflamaging. Understanding the age-related alterations in the levels of proteins from the NF-κB family will help us to better comprehend the mechanisms underlying inflamaging and develop more effective treatments for chronic inflammation. The quantification of this biomolecule in lymphocytes and oral epithelial cells could serve as a basis for a minimally invasive screening test for inflamaging diagnosis.

摘要

炎症衰老指的是在衰老过程中,由于免疫系统调节紊乱而发生的一种慢性、低度炎症。这种情况与心血管疾病、神经退行性疾病和代谢紊乱等与年龄相关疾病的风险增加有关。转录因子NF-κB是先天性和适应性免疫反应的主要调节因子之一,其激活会导致促炎细胞因子和趋化因子的产生,从而促成炎症衰老。了解NF-κB家族蛋白质水平的年龄相关变化,将有助于我们更好地理解炎症衰老的潜在机制,并开发出更有效的慢性炎症治疗方法。对淋巴细胞和口腔上皮细胞中的这种生物分子进行定量分析,可作为炎症衰老诊断的微创筛查试验的基础。
