Meningitis is a severe infection of the central nervous system. is an uncommon fungal agent that can cause meningitis and often manifests unusual symptoms. While this infection is more prevalent in immunocompromised patients, it can also affect immunocompetent patients. A 33-year-old housewife living in the village visited our hospital emergency department complaining of a severe headache and mild fever for 7 days. We diagnosed an unusual occurrence of cryptococcal meningitis with infarction of the splenium of the corpus callosum in a patient who appeared to have a healthy immune system. This disease should be considered in immunocompetent individuals with persistent headache or other neurological findings, even in the absence of overt risk factors.
脑膜炎是中枢神经系统的一种严重感染。隐球菌是一种罕见的真菌病原体，可引起脑膜炎，且常表现出不寻常的症状。虽然这种感染在免疫功能低下的患者中更为常见，但也可影响免疫功能正常的患者。一名居住在农村的33岁家庭主妇因严重头痛和低热7天前来我院急诊科就诊。我们诊断出一名看似免疫系统健康的患者发生了罕见的新型隐球菌性脑膜炎并伴有胼胝体压部梗死。即使没有明显的危险因素，对于有持续性头痛或其他神经系统症状的免疫功能正常个体，也应考虑这种疾病。
