Abstract

As an endogenous gas signaling molecule, hydrogen sulfide (HS) has been proved to have a variety of biological activities. Studies have shown that in some disease state HS concentration in the body is lower than normal state. Based on these findings, exogenous HS supplementation is expected to be an effective treatment for many diseases. In recent years, a lot of HS-releasing substances, namely HS donors, have emerged as HS sources. Specifically, various HS donors also could be connected to drugs or compounds to form HS donor conjugates. Many studies have found that HS donor conjugates can not only retain the activity of the parent drug, but also reduce the adverse effects of the parent drug, this makes HS donor conjugates to be a new kind of drug candidates. In this article, HS donor conjugates will be reviewed and classified according to different diseases, such as inflammation, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diseases of central nervous system and cancer. This review aims to provide an idea for researchers for further study of HS and HS donor conjugates.

作为一种内源性气体信号分子,硫化氢(HS)已被证明具有多种生物学活性。研究表明,在某些疾病状态下,体内HS浓度低于正常状态。基于这些发现,外源性补充HS有望成为治疗多种疾病的有效方法。近年来,许多能够释放HS的物质,即HS供体,已作为HS来源出现。具体而言,各种HS供体还可与药物或化合物连接形成HS供体缀合物。许多研究发现,HS供体缀合物不仅可以保留母体药物的活性,还能降低母体药物的不良反应,这使得HS供体缀合物成为一种新型候选药物。在本文中,将根据不同疾病,如炎症、心脑血管疾病、中枢神经系统疾病和癌症,对HS供体缀合物进行综述和分类。本综述旨在为研究人员进一步研究HS和HS供体缀合物提供思路。
