Abstract

We report the presence of Gilbert 1891 off Zapallar (-32.568253, -71.464225), central Chile, during the ENSO 2023-2024 event. Morphology and a partial fragment of the mitochondrial markers cytochrome oxidase 1 (1) and identified one specimen fished by artisanal fishermen. This report extends the known southern range limit of by 9° of latitude (~1000 km) to central Chile (-32°) during strong negative ENSO conditions.

我们报告了在2023 - 2024年厄尔尼诺 - 南方涛动（ENSO）事件期间，在智利中部扎帕亚尔（-32.568253，-71.464225）外海发现了吉尔伯特1891（物种名，未明确中文名）。通过形态学以及线粒体标记细胞色素氧化酶1（1）的部分片段，鉴定出一个由个体渔民捕获的标本。本报告将已知的吉尔伯特1891在强负ENSO条件下的南部分布范围界限向南延伸了9个纬度（约1000公里）至智利中部（-32°）。
