Abstract

BACKGROUND

This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of The Bullying Behaviors in Nursing Education (BBNE) scale among Iranian nursing students.

METHOD

In this cross-sectional study, 366 undergraduate nursing students from two public universities in Iran were selected through convenience sampling from April to June 2023. The BBNE scale was translated into Persian, and its content and construct validity, internal consistency and reliability were evaluated.

RESULTS

The three extracted factors explained 53.22% of the total variance. The results supported the three-factor model of the BBNE with acceptable goodness-of-fit (χ(112) = 368.59, χ/df = 3.2, CFI = 0.92, IFI = 0.92, TLI = 0.91, PCFI = 0.76, PNFI = 0.74 and RMSEA = 0.079 [CI90%: 0.07, 0.08], good internal consistency (> 0.7), and convergent and discriminant validity.

CONCLUSION

The results supported the three-factor model of the BBNE with acceptable goodness-of-fit, good internal consistency and construct reliability. In order to reduce and eliminate bullying behaviors in the university environment, we should first measure the bullying behavior among nursing students and then teach them how to deal with the consequences.

背景

本研究旨在评估《护理教育中的欺凌行为(BBNE)量表》波斯语版本在伊朗护理专业学生中的心理测量特性。

方法

在这项横断面研究中,2023年4月至6月通过便利抽样从伊朗两所公立大学选取了366名本科护理专业学生。将BBNE量表翻译成波斯语,并对其内容效度、结构效度、内部一致性和信度进行评估。

结果

提取的三个因子解释了总方差的53.22%。结果支持BBNE的三因子模型,拟合优度可接受(χ(112) = 368.59,χ/df = 3.2,CFI = 0.92,IFI = 0.92,TLI = 0.91,PCFI = 0.76,PNFI = 0.74,RMSEA = 0.079 [CI90%: 0.07, 0.08]),内部一致性良好(> 0.7),具有收敛效度和区分效度。

结论

结果支持BBNE的三因子模型,拟合优度可接受,内部一致性良好,结构可靠。为了减少和消除大学环境中的欺凌行为,我们应首先测量护理专业学生中的欺凌行为,然后教导他们如何应对其后果。
