Parotid foreign bodies are not common. The majority of cases are caused by trauma. The clinical presentation, symptoms, and duration of discomfort vary among patients and may be challenging to treat.
In this report, we report a case of a 9-year-old male patient who presented with recurrent abscess formation at the site of a facial wound caused by a tree branch. Ultrasound examination confirmed the presence of a foreign body in the deep lobe of the parotid gland. The foreign body was eventually removed via endoscopic surgery.
The preferred treatment for parotid gland foreign bodies is early surgical exploration. Open exploration carries the risk of facial deformity and nerve injury. By using endoscopic surgery to remove the foreign body and clear the infected lesion, the location of the foreign body can be accurately identified, and the risk of facial deformity and injury to the facial nerve associated with open parotidectomy can be reduced.
In cases of foreign bodies retained deep within tissues following traumatic injury, endoscopic surgery offers superior localization of the foreign body while minimizing surgical complications and associated risks.
腮腺异物并不常见。大多数病例由外伤引起。临床表现、症状以及不适持续时间因人而异，治疗可能具有挑战性。

腮腺异物的首选治疗方法是早期手术探查。开放性探查存在面部畸形和神经损伤的风险。通过内镜手术取出异物并清除感染病灶，能够准确确定异物位置，降低与开放性腮腺切除术相关的面部畸形和面神经损伤风险。
在外伤后异物留存于深部组织的病例中，内镜手术能更好地定位异物，同时将手术并发症及相关风险降至最低。
