The aim of the present study was to compare the rates of change in Ganglion Cell- Inner Plexiform Layer (GCIPL) and Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL) thickness, as measured by Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Guided Progression Analysis (GPA) program in control group, Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) and Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma (PXG) eyes.
60 POAG and 60 PXG patients and 30 control group patients were included in the study. Patients diagnosed with glaucoma were divided into two groups as mild (Mean deviation (MD) > -6.00) and moderate-severe (MD < -6.00). The average, superior and inferior quadrant thinning rates (expressed in micrometers per year) of GCIPL and RNFL in the OCT GPA program were compared between groups.
Average GCIPL thinning rates were -0.23 ± 0.21 μm/year in the control group, -0.64 ± 0.54 μm/year in POAG patients, and -1.06 ± 1.16 μm/year in PXG patients (ANOVA, p < 0.001). Average RNFL thinning rates were -0.33 ± 0.44 μm/year in the control group, -0.86 ± 0.73 μm/year in POAG patients, and -1.33 ± 1.4 μm/year in PXG patients (ANOVA, p < 0.001).
The rates of GCIPL and RNFL thinning were highest in patients with PXG. We found that the glaucoma stage did not affect the rate of RNFL and GCIPL thinning.
本研究的目的是比较通过光学相干断层扫描(OCT)引导进展分析(GPA)程序测量的对照组、原发性开角型青光眼(POAG)和剥脱性青光眼(PXG)眼中神经节细胞-内丛状层(GCIPL)和视网膜神经纤维层(RNFL)厚度的变化率。
本研究纳入了60例POAG患者、60例PXG患者和30例对照组患者。被诊断为青光眼的患者被分为轻度(平均偏差(MD)>-6.00)和中度至重度(MD<-6.00)两组。比较了OCT GPA程序中GCIPL和RNFL在各组中的平均、上象限和下象限变薄率(以每年微米表示)。
对照组GCIPL平均变薄率为-0.23±0.21μm/年,POAG患者为-0.64±0.54μm/年,PXG患者为-1.06±1.16μm/年(方差分析,p<0.001)。对照组RNFL平均变薄率为-0.33±0.44μm/年,POAG患者为-0.86±0.73μm/年,PXG患者为-1.33±1.4μm/年(方差分析,p<0.001)。
PXG患者的GCIPL和RNFL变薄率最高。我们发现青光眼分期不影响RNFL和GCIPL的变薄率。
