Abstract

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the influence of maintaining apical patency (AP) in endodontic treatment outcome.

METHODOLOGY

An electronic database search was performed in PubMed, Cochrane Library, LIVIVO, LILACS, and EBSCO host from inception till July 2024. The data from the included articles were extracted and the quality was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration tool and ROBINS-I tool.

RESULTS

Five articles were included for the qualitative synthesis, and all the included articles were determined to have a low risk of bias. Maintaining the AP resulted in two-fold increase in the healing outcome with long-term follow-up.

CONCLUSION

It can be concluded from this systematic review that maintaining AP is likely to enhance the endodontic treatment outcome. However, more long-term clinical studies are required to further evaluate the possible influence of AP.

目的

本系统评价旨在评估保持根尖通畅（AP）对根管治疗结果的影响。

方法

从数据库建立至2024年7月，在PubMed、Cochrane图书馆、LIVIVO、LILACS和EBSCO主机上进行电子数据库检索。提取纳入文章的数据，并使用Cochrane协作工具和ROBINS-I工具评估质量。

结果

纳入5篇文章进行定性综合分析，所有纳入文章均被判定为低偏倚风险。长期随访结果显示，保持AP可使愈合结果增加两倍。

结论

从本系统评价可以得出结论，保持AP可能会提高根管治疗效果。然而，需要更多的长期临床研究来进一步评估AP的可能影响。
