Academic burnout is a common phenomenon among Chinese college students, which can have a negative impact on students' academic performance and even the entire higher education industry. Existing literature has pointed out that the situation of academic burnout among Chinese college students is severe, and the prevalence of academic burnout is worrying. As previous studies on academic burnout among college students analyze the impact of a single factor on academic burnout, which is limited by the combined effect of multiple factors, this article uses FSQCA method to empirically explore how five antecedent conditions (academic stress, academic anxiety, lack of academic self-efficacy, Internet addiction, and loneliness) lead to this phenomenon from configuration perspective. This paper takes 314 college students as research objects, and then conducts a configuration analysis of the five conditions that produce college students' academic burnout based on collected data. The research results indicate that any single condition is not necessary for college students' academic burnout, on the contrary, this paper obtains three configuration paths that give rise to the academic burnout. The first one includes academic stress, academic anxiety, lack of academic self-efficacy and Internet addiction, the second one consists of academic stress, lack of academic self-efficacy, Internet addiction, and loneliness, and the third one contains academic stress, academic anxiety, lack of academic self-efficacy and loneliness. Configuration means that this phenomenon occurs only when conditions in specific configuration work together, such as academic stress, academic anxiety, lack of academic self-efficacy, and Internet addiction in the first configuration. The findings can provide reasonable theoretical explanations for this phenomenon and offer practical references for eliminating or at least reducing it. For instance, in teaching activities and educational settings, it is necessary to reasonably arrange college students' academic tasks such as courses and assignments, provide effective psychological counseling for college students, and guide them to engage in physical exercise in appropriate ways or through the formulation of relevant educational policies, so as to promote students' outstanding completion of studies.
学业倦怠是中国大学生中的普遍现象,它会对学生的学业成绩乃至整个高等教育行业产生负面影响。现有文献指出,中国大学生学业倦怠的情况较为严重,其发生率令人担忧。由于以往关于大学生学业倦怠的研究分析的是单一因素对学业倦怠的影响,受到多种因素综合作用的限制,本文运用模糊集定性比较分析(FSQCA)方法,从组态视角实证探究五个前因条件(学业压力、学业焦虑、缺乏学业自我效能感、网络成瘾和孤独感)如何导致这一现象。本文以314名大学生为研究对象,然后根据收集到的数据,对导致大学生学业倦怠的五个条件进行组态分析。研究结果表明,任何单一条件对于大学生学业倦怠而言都不是必要条件,相反,本文得出了三条引发学业倦怠的组态路径。第一条包括学业压力、学业焦虑、缺乏学业自我效能感和网络成瘾,第二条由学业压力、缺乏学业自我效能感、网络成瘾和孤独感组成,第三条包含学业压力、学业焦虑、缺乏学业自我效能感和孤独感。组态意味着只有当特定组态中的条件共同作用时,这种现象才会发生,比如在第一种组态中的学业压力、学业焦虑、缺乏学业自我效能感和网络成瘾。这些研究结果能够为这一现象提供合理的理论解释,并为消除或至少减轻这一现象提供实践参考。例如,在教学活动和教育环境中,有必要合理安排大学生的学业任务,如课程和作业,为大学生提供有效的心理咨询,并引导他们以适当的方式进行体育锻炼,或者通过制定相关教育政策,以促进学生出色地完成学业。
