Abstract

A plasma-coated titanium screw was specially constructed to receive a bar. Since the clinical results were good, we felt justified in presenting our preliminary findings. Given the fact that this implant is relatively new (2 years), our method seems promising because the bar prosthesis can be applied immediately with the standardized instrumentarium, thereby making it possible to exert function a stress on the implant immediately. The implantation method and the preparation technique for the superstructure is discussed in another publication.
