The term "chronic tachyarrhythmia" implies a permanent or established abnormal cardiac rhythm that is faster than the previous or expected sinus rhythm. It may or may not be associated with symptoms, and therapy may only be indicated if cardiac dysfunction develops or if symptoms are troublesome.
