Using the mammalian technique of 'in situ' thymic labelling, the thymocytes of the rainbow trout, Salmo gairdneri Richardson were successfully labelled with 3H-thymidine. The migration of the cells to the peripheral lymphoid organs was followed using autoradiography and scintillation counting, and it was shown that twice as many thymocytes migrated to the spleen, as to the kidney.
