Abstract
Different techniques to reconstruct the posterior outer ear canal wall with obliteration and ventilation of the mastoid cavity are reviewed. The suitability of canal prostheses, made from the bioactive glass ceramic Ceravital has been tested clinically in 76 patients. The operative technique and the postoperative results are reported.
