Tourism cooperation is increasingly recognized as a key driver of regional economic development, playing a crucial role in facilitating internal circulation and enhancing urban public health. This study examines the relationship between tourism cooperation and urban public health development, with a focus on China.
Using data from 284 Chinese cities over the period 2011-2022, this research measures both the degree of tourism cooperation and the level of urban public health development. Empirical analysis is conducted to assess the impact of tourism cooperation on urban public health outcomes. The study employs robustness tests to ensure the validity of its findings.
The findings indicate that tourism cooperation significantly promotes urban public health development. After conducting robustness tests, this result remains consistent. Furthermore, heterogeneity analysis reveals that the "core hinterland" type of tourism cooperation model has a stronger impact on urban public health development compared to the adjacent city type. Among different city cooperation models, tourism cooperation between central cities has the greatest empowering effect, followed by cooperation between central and non-central cities, while cooperation between non-central cities has the smallest effect.
The research suggests that tourism cooperation can effectively address regional economic disparities and the imbalanced development of urban public health in China. The findings have important implications for policy-making, particularly in promoting sustainable urban health development and narrowing regional gaps in economic and health outcomes.
旅游合作日益被视为区域经济发展的关键驱动力，在促进国内循环和提升城市公共卫生方面发挥着至关重要的作用。本研究聚焦于中国，探讨旅游合作与城市公共卫生发展之间的关系。
利用2011年至2022年期间中国284个城市的数据，本研究测度了旅游合作程度和城市公共卫生发展水平。进行实证分析以评估旅游合作对城市公共卫生结果的影响。该研究采用稳健性检验以确保研究结果的有效性。
研究结果表明，旅游合作显著促进城市公共卫生发展。在进行稳健性检验后，这一结果保持一致。此外，异质性分析显示，与相邻城市类型相比，“核心—腹地”型旅游合作模式对城市公共卫生发展的影响更强。在不同的城市合作模式中，中心城市之间的旅游合作赋能效果最大，其次是中心城市与非中心城市之间的合作，而非中心城市之间的合作效果最小。
该研究表明，旅游合作能够有效解决中国区域经济差距和城市公共卫生发展不平衡问题。研究结果对政策制定具有重要意义，特别是在促进城市健康可持续发展以及缩小经济和健康结果的区域差距方面。
