Abstract

PURPOSE

This study aimed to investigate the impact of 1070 nm Ytterbium Fiber Laser (YFL) on the shear bond strength of lithium disilicate ceramics to enamel.

METHODS

Fifty-four freshly extracted bovine teeth were embedded in acrylic resin, with labial surfaces exposed. The teeth underwent etching with phosphoric acid, followed by the application of bond resin. Ceramic samples of 0.5 mm, 1 mm, and 1.5 mm thickness were obtained from lithium disilicate CAD blocks using a precision cutting tool. Samples were divided into two subgroups according to surface treatment method: one group was treated with 4.5% hydrofluoric acid for 20 s, while the other was treated with a 20 W average power YFL. One sample from each subgroup underwent SEM analysis; the remaining samples were cemented to prepared bovine teeth using composite resin cement. Color measurements were performed before and after surface treatments. Shear bond strength was evaluated using a universal testing machine with a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Fracture analyses were conducted using a stereomicroscope. Statistical analyses were performed using two-way ANOVA and two-way ANOSIM.

RESULTS

According to the two-way ANOVA results, the ΔE values were significantly higher in all thickness groups treated with YFL than in those subjected to acid treatment. Two-way ANOSIM revealed that neither sample thickness nor surface treatment had a statistically significant effect on shear bond strength. SEM analysis revealed micro-roughness in the acid-treated samples and mini-laser spots in the laser-treated groups, and no microfractures or cracks detected in any of the groups.

CONCLUSION

The shear bond strengths of lithium disilicate ceramics, whether treated with YFL or hydrofluoric acid, were found to be comparable. These findings suggest the potential utility of 1070 nm YFL for ceramic etching, supporting the need for further investigation in dental applications.

目的

本研究旨在探讨1070纳米镱光纤激光(YFL)对二硅酸锂陶瓷与牙釉质之间剪切粘结强度的影响。

方法

将54颗新鲜拔除的牛牙嵌入丙烯酸树脂中,使唇面暴露。牙齿先用磷酸蚀刻,然后涂抹粘结树脂。使用精密切割工具从二硅酸锂计算机辅助设计(CAD)块中获取厚度为0.5毫米、1毫米和1.5毫米的陶瓷样本。根据表面处理方法将样本分为两个亚组:一组用4.5%氢氟酸处理20秒,另一组用平均功率为20瓦的YFL处理。每个亚组取一个样本进行扫描电子显微镜(SEM)分析;其余样本用复合树脂粘结剂粘结到制备好的牛牙上。在表面处理前后进行颜色测量。使用万能试验机以0.5毫米/分钟的十字头速度评估剪切粘结强度。使用体视显微镜进行断裂分析。采用双向方差分析和双向相似性分析进行统计分析。

结果

结论

发现二硅酸锂陶瓷经YFL或氢氟酸处理后的剪切粘结强度相当。这些发现表明1070纳米YFL在陶瓷蚀刻方面具有潜在用途,支持在牙科应用中进一步研究的必要性。
