Abstract
Shared decision-making (SDM) is a standard practice in which health care professionals and patients work together to achieve the best treatment results and patient satisfaction. Professionals need to be committed and patients must be engaged for effective SDM implementation. However, without a cultural shift within health systems, practical application of SDM will not be truly effective.
