Abstract

We report a rare, severe case of invasive endocarditis with multiorgan involvement in a middle-aged man with few comorbidities. The patient presented with fever, malaise, and back pain, and was diagnosed with infective endocarditis (IE) involving the mitral valve, septic arthritis, renal and splenic infarctions, septic cerebral emboli, endophthalmitis, and multiple epidural and intramuscular abscesses. Treatment involved prolonged antibiotics and surgical drainage of an elbow abscess. After a prolonged hospital stay and intensive rehabilitation, the patient achieved a favourable outcome.

我们报告了一例罕见的、严重的侵袭性心内膜炎病例，累及一名合并症较少的中年男性的多个器官。患者表现为发热、不适和背痛，被诊断为感染性心内膜炎（IE），累及二尖瓣、化脓性关节炎、肾和脾梗死、感染性脑栓塞、眼内炎以及多个硬膜外和肌肉内脓肿。治疗包括延长抗生素使用时间以及对肘部脓肿进行手术引流。经过长时间住院和强化康复治疗，患者取得了良好的疗效。
