Abstract

Honey bees are essential pollinators of numerous crops, playing a vital role in global agricultural productivity and biodiversity preservation. Several biological stressors pose a threat to this pollinating insect. Among these, the ectoparasitic mite Varroa destructor is currently the most significant concern. Historically, mite management has predominantly relied on synthetic acaricides, which present multiple disadvantages, including resistance development and residual toxicity. As an alternative, eco-friendly products have aroused great interest over the years. The purpose of this review is to consolidate current knowledge on the toxicological mechanisms of organic acaricides, examine their sublethal effects on honey bees, identify existing knowledge gaps, and provide practical recommendations for beekeepers and policymakers. By assessing both the efficacy and safety of organic acaricides, this review seeks to promote sustainable and bee-friendly pest management strategies.

蜜蜂是众多农作物的重要传粉者,在全球农业生产力和生物多样性保护中发挥着至关重要的作用。多种生物应激源对这种传粉昆虫构成威胁。其中,外寄生螨狄斯瓦螨目前是最主要的问题。从历史上看,螨虫管理主要依赖合成杀螨剂,这些杀螨剂存在多种缺点,包括抗药性发展和残留毒性。作为替代方案,多年来环保产品引起了极大关注。本综述的目的是整合关于有机杀螨剂毒理学机制的现有知识,研究它们对蜜蜂的亚致死效应,识别现有的知识空白,并为养蜂人和政策制定者提供实用建议。通过评估有机杀螨剂的功效和安全性,本综述旨在促进可持续且对蜜蜂友好的害虫管理策略。
