The process of extracting genomic DNA from biological samples is a bottleneck in PCR genotyping. Here, we describe a speedy genotyping method that combines simple genomic DNA extraction using hot alkaline/SDS and direct use of the extract in an SDS-tolerant cyclodextrin-PCR (CD-PCR).
