Abstract
The experience with the treatment of non-parasitic cysts of the spleen in children has shown that although careful assessment of the clinical and case-history data facilitate the correct diagnosis the leading role should be given to laparoscopy fulfilled if necessary in combination with splenoportography or puncture of the splenic cyst. Splenectomy is the operation of choice for cysts of the spleen in children.
