A copper/photoredox dual-catalysis-enabled 1,4-arylcyanation of 1,3-enynes to afford tetrasubstituted allenyl nitriles was initially developed. The reaction features good reaction generality and high reaction regioselectivity, providing facile access to multifunctionalized allenyl nitriles. This strategy achieves the construction of aryl-containing tetrasubstituted allenyl nitriles via indirect arene C-H functionalization. It also serves as an important complement to thianthrenium salt chemistry.
