Abstract

A tetramer metasurface with strong coupling of meta-atoms under C symmetry is proposed to realize polarization-dependent bound states in continuum (BICs) with the random forest regressor algorithm assistance. The quality (Q) factor of quasi-BIC correlates with the centralization degree of the tetramer structure, which is determined by the photonic band characteristics. The quasi-BIC is dominated by a hybrid of electric dipole and quadrupole in E polarization (Q > 10), whereas only electric dipole dominates quasi-BIC (Q > 10) in E polarization. These findings demonstrate a novel strategy to achieve ultrahigh Q-factor resonances in terahertz photonics.

提出了一种在C对称性下具有元原子强耦合的四聚体超表面,以借助随机森林回归算法实现连续统中的偏振相关束缚态(BIC)。准BIC的品质(Q)因子与四聚体结构的集中程度相关,这由光子带特性决定。在E偏振中,准BIC由电偶极子和四极子的混合主导(Q>10),而在E偏振中只有电偶极子主导准BIC(Q>10)。这些发现展示了一种在太赫兹光子学中实现超高Q因子共振的新策略。
