This commentary addresses the retrospective study by Torabi et al. on the impact of preoperative diastolic dysfunction on RAMIE. While the study found no association with adverse short-term outcomes, concerns remain regarding statistical power, grade stratification, and unadjusted confounders. A broader inclusion of dysfunction severity is needed to clarify its true perioperative clinical significance.
